Q: Are these carbon pads reusable?
A: They can be rinsed; however, the carbon will get used up in about a month of use and can't be reused.

Q: Can these pads replace mechanical filtration like other filter pads?
A: We recommend using a separate mechanical filter pad. Although this will catch large debris, that will clog the carbon and reduce how well it works.

Q: Do the pads need to be rinsed first?
A: There may be some dust accumulated during packaging and shipping, but carbon dust is minimal. Only a light rinse is needed.

Q: How thick is the carbon pad?
A: It is 3/8"-1/2" inches thick! You can get rolls that are 10.5 inches by 36 inches or 10.5 inches by 72 inches,

Q: Can the carbon be used in freshwater, saltwater, or ponds?
A: Absolutely, it can be used for any aquarium or pond. It is reef safe and durable enough to use outside in your pond. Depending on your aquarium or pond, you may need something that removes pollutants more aggressively like activated charcoal granules.
